Where to Publish Your HTML5 Game

You finished a browser game. Now where do you put it so people play it and it earns something? Here are the main HTML5 game portals side by side: what you earn, whether they want exclusivity, and how you get in. Checked in November 2026, with sources linked at the bottom.

We run one of these portals ourselves (I Love Web Games), so we say where we fit and where we don't. Terms change: check each portal's own page before you sign anything.

Portal by portal

I Love Web Games

That's us, so we put ourselves first, but judge for yourself. We are a curated portal: a real person plays every game, and accepted games get their own page with credit and a link back to your site. We take no share. Either we embed your own build from your own URL, so your ads keep running, or we embed your Playgama, GameMonetize or GamePix version and the network pays you your usual share for every play here. It's free and non-exclusive, so it stacks with everything above except a Poki exclusive. Submit your game.

Poki

The biggest audience and the best terms for strong games: you keep 100% of revenue from players you bring yourself (for example people who search your game's name) and 50% of revenue from players Poki brings. The catch is that it is a web-exclusive deal, 5 years by default, so no other websites. Steam, mobile stores and consoles stay open. Poki picks games by hand and expects at least 30 FPS, a responsive 16:9 layout and a game that works for at least 85% of players on each platform. If you don't want exclusivity, they can offer a one-time license fee instead.

CrazyGames

Open to everyone. Your game starts in Basic Launch, where the SDK is optional and there is no monetization yet; games that perform well move to Full Launch, where the SDK is required and you earn an ad revenue share. The percentage is not in their public docs. Publishing elsewhere is fine as long as you hold the rights. Payouts are monthly once you pass €100, by PayPal or wire.

Playgama

Non-exclusive, 50% for developers on playgama.com and its partner network. New games first run in a Sandbox with real players and have to hit targets before they go to review. From our own dashboard, the Arcade targets were 100 qualifying plays, at least 5 minutes average play time and at least 0.30 ad shows per play. Payout from $100 by PayPal, Wise, crypto or bank transfer.

GamePix

Non-exclusive, 50% of net revenue (it was 45% earlier in 2026). You integrate their lightweight SDK, with plugins for plain JavaScript, Construct, GDevelop, Godot, Cocos and Unity, and validate it before you submit.

GameMonetize

Non-exclusive, 45% for developers, and 90% if you also run the website the game is played on. Minimum payout is $30 by PayPal or USDT, paid Net 30. Every game is reviewed by their testers. As of late 2026 their review notes say they no longer accept AI-generated games, and that repeated low-quality submissions can get an account suspended, so only send polished work.

Y8

Developers in their managed partnership receive 50% of eligible advertising revenue from in-game ads.

itch.io

Upload a zip with an index.html and you are live the same day. There are no ads: you earn from sales or pay-what-you-want tips, and you choose itch.io's cut yourself (the default is 10%). Great for feedback, devlogs and jams, and a good home page for your game.

Game Jolt

Similar to itch.io: free upload, a strong indie community, and a marketplace cut of up to 10% that you can lower.

Newgrounds

One of the oldest web game communities and still a great place for honest feedback. There is no ad revenue share for creators right now; money comes from monthly awards, contests and jams.

A sensible order

  1. Get feedback first. Put the game on itch.io or Newgrounds and fix what players complain about. The first two minutes decide almost everything on every portal.
  2. If it is strong, talk to Poki before anything else. Their deal is exclusive, so it has to come first or not at all.
  3. Otherwise, spread it. CrazyGames, Playgama, GamePix and GameMonetize are all non-exclusive, so you can run them side by side.
  4. Add curated portals that link back. Every page that embeds your game and links to you is another way players and search engines find you.

Questions developers ask

Can I publish the same HTML5 game on several portals?

Yes, as long as none of your deals is exclusive. CrazyGames, Playgama, GamePix, GameMonetize, itch.io, Game Jolt, Newgrounds and I Love Web Games are all non-exclusive. A Poki web-exclusive deal is the exception: it rules out other websites for the length of the deal (5 years by default), but not Steam, app stores or consoles.

Which portal pays the most?

There is no single answer, because earnings depend on traffic, play time and ad shows per play, not just the percentage. Poki gives the best terms for traffic you bring yourself (100%), but only for games they pick and in exchange for web exclusivity. Among non-exclusive networks the published shares sit around 45 to 50%.

Do I need an SDK?

For ad revenue, usually yes. Poki, GamePix, GameMonetize and the CrazyGames Full Launch all require their SDK. Playgama works through its own SDK as well. itch.io, Game Jolt and Newgrounds need nothing: you upload a zip with an index.html.

Do portals accept AI-made games?

Policies differ and they change. As of late 2026, GameMonetize review notes say it no longer accepts AI-generated games and that repeated low-quality submissions can get an account suspended. Others judge the game itself. Whatever you used to build it, the safest path is a game with real depth, polish and good retention in the first two minutes.

What is the fastest way to get first players?

itch.io and Newgrounds give you players and feedback within days. Free curated portals that embed your own build, like I Love Web Games, add a page that ranks on Google and a link back to your site. Networks such as Playgama and CrazyGames bring the biggest numbers, but only after their test phase.

How much does it cost to submit?

Nothing. None of the portals in this guide charges a submission or listing fee.
